Elva's 2008 In Review

January

Elva started the New Year in Shanghai and subsequently bagged several awards in the Sina Awards in China. The awards being Most All Rounded Artiste Hong Kong/Taiwan and Female Artiste of the Year. Later in the month, she counted down to 200 days to the Beijing Olympics at the newly opened Beijing Wu Ke Song Basketball Gymnasium.

February
Elva became the first Asian singer and artiste to be invited to the D&G Fashion Show during the Milan Fashion Week. During end February, Elva was plagued by rumours of her involvement of the Edison Chen scandal and she release an official statement to clear her innocence. The matter was so hurting that she spoke out in her blog with regard to this matter.

March
Elva officially parted ways with Warner Music after a 3-year relationship filled with much bad luck. She also made her her first appearance in Singapore since 2004 in the S-POP Hurray! Music Gala Concert on 23 March held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

April
Elva official re-joins her previous record label, Virgin Music at a Asia Press Conference held at Beijing Shi Cha Hai Association, marking a new beginning to her career in 2008.

May
Elva finishes the last production phase of her album, with a new look, new dance and a Puma endorsement.

June
Elva snagged an endorsement with Rexona to promote their anti-perspirant. 3-Faced Elva is finally released on 15 June, reaching the 2nd spot on the G-music chart in Taiwan. A Shanghai media showcase was held subsequently and Virgin Music introduced a "3-Nos" policy - no manipulation of chart sales, no comparison and promise that fans would not want a refund, showing much confidence in this album. At the end of the month, to celebrate the successful sales of the album, EMI Virgin Music held a “Elva Hsiao 3-Faced Elva Sincere Asia Celebration Press Conference” on 24 June for the media from all over Asia.

July
Elva began her album promtion tour, including appearances on Channel V and 100% Entertainment and releasing the different versions of 3-Faced Elva at different time periods in the month.

August
Elva held her celebration concert for her “3-Faced Elva” album, which has sold more than 700,000 copies in Asia at that time.

September
Elva took a short break after her celebration concert and continued her promotional tour in China. Most significantly, she took time out to fly to Singapore for a free music showcase in Singapore Expo - Max Pavilion, with more than 4000 people filling up the whole auditorium. This was Elva's first big scale performance in almost 5 years in Singapore. She also held an autograph session in Junction 8 the next day, co-hosting Y.E.S. 93.3FM Pick of the Pops chart with DJ Li Yi and Cruz Teng.

October - December
Elva continued her 3-Faced Elva promotional tour in China and Hong Kong, holding various autograph sessions in various parts of China like Fuzhou.
