Elva Hosting Gig Angers Many

To promote the latest repackaged version of “3-Faced Elva”, Elva recently appeared in a Taiwanese variety show “Love to Be Beautiful” (就是愛玩美) as a special guest host, co-hosting with fashion stylist Chen Sun Hua (陈孙华). However, according to reports, Elva angered the original host Jia Yong Jie and made a lot of mistakes during recording. In addition, when she had the chance to talk about a topic that she was familiar with, she hogged the talk time and diverted the focus to her rather than the guests, making the situation extremely awkward for Chen and the guests.

According to magazine reports, Jia, who was about to go on maternity leave, highly recommended her friend Chen Xiao Xuan (陳孝萱) to stand in for her. But even before her leave, she was booted out of the show for an episode and Elva got to replace her. This made Jia pretty furious and she left immediately after she had recorded her segment without greeting Elva.

The reason Elva got to be the guest host for the show was because Chen wanted to help her promote her album. But on the day of recording, not only was Elva late, she admitted that she was only familiar with Emma Ni (倪雅倫) amongst the guests and so focused her attention more on Emma, leaving the rest of the guests flabbergasted.
When the discussion topic changed to fashion and the Olympics, Elva could not stop herself even under much hinting from Chen to stop, which eventually led to him saying: “Do we really have to record till the next morning?”

Elva’s managing company expressed that Elva agreed to co-host the show because of her friendship with Chen and she was not paid a single cent. Besides, her performance was praised by many at the scene, so they did not know who had spread such baseless rumours.
