Elva - Rexona China Spokesperson
Elva arrived in Shanghai yesterday for a 3-day promotional trip. Last night, she appeared in Rexona’s China press conference, as their first spokesperson in China. This is her first commercial since signing on with record label EMI Virgin Music Taiwan, and she sang her second single “More More More” in the commercial. After many years of hardship, which included a change of record label in between, now Elva is confident of returning to the scene with a bang: “There’s a lot of stress, but I will remind myself to be in my top form.”
In the commercial shown yesterday, Elva delivered a flawless performance: from the enthusiastic dance on stage to the girl-next-door image in the living room, and her sporty image in the training room. Every image is full of Elva’s style. When the host praised that she is a “perfect diva”, Elva said: “I strive to be in perfect form every moment, so before everything that I’m going to do, I will get fully prepared. Regardless of whether it’s a stage performance, interacting with my fans, I will be very confident. I don’t have to worry about a small detail betraying me. Confidence is the true perfection.”
Elva also performed her second single, More More More. “This song shows the confidence of a female motor racer. I love the speed rush on a highway, and it sort of satisfied my desire to speed even though I don’t know how to drive.” She had also invited martial arts champion, Wu Jin, to teach her the martial arts moves. But to become an martial artist, Elva endured much suffering. “I’m tired and sweaty everyday. Martial arts is not really suitable for girls. Every time when I’m on the wire performing the difficult moves, I had to look relaxed. But the overall effect is great, and it’s worth it.”
Elva’s love life has always been the media spotlight. She expressed that she is still looking for the right person, and hoped that the other half has a kind heart, is optimistic, filial and professional in his work.
Four of male fans sang her hit song “The Most Familiar Stranger”, so the host asked which one of them is her type of guy. She cleverly replied that every one has their strong points, and she could only know more about them after further interaction with them.
In her previous album, 1087, Elva tried her hands on the role of a co-coordinator. For this album, she further stretched her talent in lyrics, back-up vocals and other important parts of the production. The song, More More More, was written by her and it took almost 2 years to complete.
Dancing has always been Elva’s forte, and this time she attempted to infuse some kungfu elements into her dance. Her managing company is currently selecting the best movie script for her, and she expressed that she would like to be a martial artist: “Kungfu is fun. I really love to try it out, so I wish that the directors will be able to see my performance. I also hope that everyone can a different kind of me.”
