Virgin Music Welcomes Elva
After many weeks of speculations, it has been confirmed that Elva will be returning to Virgin Records Taiwan. In 1998, the first artiste signed on under the Virgin Records Taiwan brand was Elva, and the company helped to push her to numerous career peaks. Now in 2008, Elva is back with EMI, the place where her talents were developed.
With regard to this news, EMI Music Chinese Division Vice President cum Taiwan Division Manager Huang Wei Jing revealed “We believe that Elva’s return marks the end of her bad spade of luck. We will be working out the grand plans for Elva’s future career development. Besides strengthening her music career, we will also leverage on her bilingual skills by focusing on pushing her to the international movie scene. All of us are ready for this. And we welcome her back!”
As for Elva’s latest album, it is scheduled for release in June, at the start of the summer holidays. EMI management will give Elva a warm welcome. For the first time ever, they will be holding a large-scale press conference in Beijing on 22 April, with media coverage from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong. In addition, all of EMI Music promotional employees in Asia are deployed for the task of planning this press conference.
With the return of the Diva, everything has to be grand. Even Lanvin, a French superbrand, which rarely sponsors artiste, will be sponsoring Elva a six-figure sapphire-coloured gown. The thought of returning to her previous record label made Elva pretty excited “Thinking of the happy times in Virgin, I’m extremely happy to team up with them!”
