Elva's Talk on Relationship

Elva has been successful since her debut in 1999. Besides a spectacular career, her love life is also pretty exciting, with rumours surrounding her and Jacky Zhu (祝钒刚), Stanley Huang (黄立行) and Edison Chen (陈冠希). But the most speculated one was with Taiwan's most eligible bachelor, Sunny Wang, whose family runs an aviation business. Back then, she gave up a role in "Memoirs of a Geisha" and even wanted to get married.

Sunny came from an affluent family, and he looks like a crossover between Allan Wu (吴彦祖) and Wang Lee Hom (王力宏). After falling in love in 2003, they had broken up briefly in March 2005 before reuniting in August 2005. However, the relationship eventually ended because of a 3rd party.

Rumours has it that she caught him red handed when he brought another woman home, so she ended the relationship immediately. When asked if she was shocked and stood outside, or went in to take a further look, Elva laughed coyly, while fondling with her hair nervously "What? What? Aiyoh!" But her tone soon turned serious "I don't think there's a need to dig up the past, so regardless of whether what you have said is true, I don't want to return to the past." According to sources, the 3rd party was also her friend. Elva initially denied, but after a while, she finally let the cat out of the bag "Yes, you can say so!". She furthered revealed that she can no longer be friends with that woman.

Elva said that currently she and Sunny are "very normal" friends, although she has a very good relationship with his parents. She confessed that she was prepared to become Mrs Wang. In 2003, after her contract with Virgin Music had ended, she put aside everything to join him in the U.S., hence missing the opportunity to act in "Memoirs of a Geisha".

Initially, the director of "Memoirs of a Geisha" approached her to star opposite Zhang Zi Yi (章子怡), as Pumpkin, a role eventually given to Yuki Kudoh. However, she gave up the golden opportunity, which her mum does not understand why. Elva's mum did not approve of Sunny's behavior, so on the day when they broke up, she happily cooked abalone porridge for Elva. "I was angry yet hilarious at that time." Elva said.

At the end of the interview, Elva revealed that Sunny is single right now. Would her mum and friends worry about them getting back together? Elva laughed bitterly "I lnow everyone's scared. But I'm sensible enough not to get back with him."

She described the relationship as "burning ferorciously for each other". Even after tehy had broken up, they had left a special place in their hearts.

Elva refused to comment directly to her relationship with Sunny Wang. Her reason? "He is not from the entertainment industry, so he don't need this kind of pressure".

Finally, Elva said that after this relationship, she has become more sensible, and she had grown up from the fear of betrayal. Now, she has hopes to fall in love again.
