Even though Elva wants to be loved, she does not want a short-term relationship. Looking at the relationships that others are in, she feels that they are progressing way too fast. "Guys are like bullet trains, they only want to take control as quickly as possible." she quipped. "But I'm a gatekeeper who wants to regulate the speed of the trains."

Elva's viewpoint on love is rather conservative, "Perhaps the internet has helped to satisfy every guys' imagination, many of them are pretty desperate." She has met a number of suitors who appeared extremely desperate, and so she advises other men "Take one step at a time and enjoy the process of courtship."

These feelings let to her penning the rap lyrics for her soon-to-be released song, Compatibility (速配程度). She explained that her lyrics talks about the "Stop, Observe and Listen" theory, a term she coined herself, in a humourous way. Being a Virgo, she prefers a more subtle approach to relationship to a fast-paced one.

After one year of singlehood, Elva reveals that she really hopes to find new love. She does not want to date secretly, but her manager does not want to publicise her relationship so openly. Besides that, she also wished that her mum can find her second mate and she helped her mum to call for suitors.
