More Updates on Elva's Recovery!

Elva smiled as she started her rehabilitation, because after 3 weeks of treatment, she started running on the treadmill! "It's like moonwalk!" she exclaimed.

This anti-gravity treadmill that Elva is using is just part of the rehabilitation. Everyday, she has to report to her physiotherapist and undergo a 2 1/2 hour long physiotherapy., which consist of using equipment like treadmill, trampoline, balance ball etc. Elva and her doctor saw instant results!

Her doctor said "The first time I saw her, I knew that she did not used her left leg to walk, hence weakening it. So I had to strengthen her left calf muscle! ...We even taught her how to use a medical elastic band to fix her ankle."

Even when she starts to dance, she still has to wear the band. Normally after rehabilitation, she will need to wear it for another 3 months, 3 additional months to recover and 3 - 6 months to protect her ankle. Initally Elva was worried that her leg will differ in size, but now on close examination, the difference is not that obvious.

Elva's doctor is very satisfied with her improvement. But he didnt know that she had been waiting 3 years for this latest album, and she had to injure herself at the last minute. "I thought it was not possible to be injured, so I continued dancing, since we were almost finsh in shooting the music video." she explained.

Relating back to the time when she injured, she said she immediately apologised to everyone, but they wondered why she need to do that. She only felt that it was the wrong time to be injured.

So even when she had a leg cast, she went to promote her album. But it was later reported that she was just trying to cause a stir to promote her album. Therefore, she felt sad about it too.

Elva said she has not given up before, which is why she chose to fly to America for treatment. She want to dance even better, so she chose a tough rehabilitation and not an easier one.

During her rehabilitation period in America, she communicated her feelings through her blog. She felt that she learnt what is professionalism from the specialists. "They are extremely systematic and well-organised. They really want me to return back to the stage to dance even better and not worry about being injured."

Although this trip incurred huge costs, Elva believed she had learnt a lot from this trip, which will help in her future performances. "Actually I feel like returning to the stage tomorrow. Because after my injury, everyone was speculating if I could dance again, the album was a concern too."

After this experience, Elva learned that Taiwan artistes need to always listen to what their bodies are teling them.
