Elva appeared on a recorded web programme in China.


She talked about her latest album, related how she injured her leg, shared her makeup tips as well as the reason why her album was delayed. Here's some snippets from the interview:

How did you feel when you hurt your leg?

I was very furious. I broke down when I was injured then. Because within this 1087 days the amount of time I spent dancing was much more than ever before. The day before shooting of the MV I would be sleeping with my lyrics sheets, remembering my dance steps till I fell asleep. I'm all prepared to let all my fans and those who were concerned about me see how much my dancing had improved... I cried when I tore my ligament. I thought "How can this ever happen?" I had prepared myself so much during this 1087 days, and yet this had to happen, I felt really angry with myself and that I really let my fans down.

Why does this album let us feel that after 1087 days, Elva had become such a fantastic artiste?

My company gave me alot of opportuinities. From 1999 till now, I feel that I'm in a music academy. The one year that a singer spent is equivalent to a normal person's 3-4 years. You had to grow up real quickly because everything is happening at double speed. For this album, I am in university, and this album is the final year project that my fans had provided me with. This time, I produced and wrote songs. In every process of song production I hope that I can involve my fans.

How different is this album different from the previous ones?

I feel that every album is good. Each one is a record of Elva at different stages of time. This album was 3 years of down time and 3 years of preparation plus I was able to control what I had wanted. The main difference of this album is the music. I had gained better control of the songs that I wrote and those written by others. I wanted every song to be a hit, no pressure of meeting deadlines at all, because I had already waited for so many days. It was good in the past, but I do have some regrets. For this album, my cover photo had to be reshot because some photos were leaked out by the press and also because I felt that the cover should have more life! So every preparation was given 100% effort.

Besides working, what was your life like during this 1087 days?

Normally, like this 2 month recovery period at home, I will watch DVDs,. I'm practically working everyday, so if I have the time i will go travelling. I love to tan, chatting at coffee joints with my friends, surf the web, checking out my blog and I love sleeping.

Now back to the album, which song best describe your feeling now?

I would have to say "不远", because after interacting with my fans, most of them would choose this song for me. They know I can't do any performance due to my injury. When I was recovering at home, they would post messages on my blog, saying that they are always by my side. Initially when I sang this song, I was dedicating it to someone whom I remembered fondly. But this song to many people, I'm like their love ones. This song is especially appropriate during this winter season, for reminiscence of love ones.

You gave us the feeling of perseverence towards making music.

Everyone faces obstacles in their lives, and you have to overcome them to become a successful person.

Although you were injured, you album still received rave reviews.

I'm very afraid that everyone will forget about me, but I still have to work hard. I hope this album will be a rememberance between us, and is an album that will break previous records.
